An Invitation You are welcome to worship with Friends. We have discovered that when people start to listen within themselves for divine guidance, the Holy Spirit leads them into a community of fellow believers. We delight to share the joy of knowing and worshiping God together. Sooner or later, we feel prompting in our hearts to make changes in our lifestyles and to serve “the least of these” whom Jesus loves. Then we really come to know that we need the support of a community of Friends. The invitation to listen inwardly to God inevitably leads us outward in service. You are invited to join us in this great adventure!
Worship Elements Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. and includes the singing of contemporary music as well as traditional hymns; the reading of the scripture; and a message that is based on Scripture and is designed to be helpful in your everyday life.
Simplicity in Worship Mooresville Friends Church embraces a simple worship style which includes two times of silence/communion with God during our worship service, which is unique to Quaker worship. The first time of silence is in the early part of the service and is designed to provide a time of personal focus; the second time of silence follows the message/sermon and provides opportunities for personal thought and reflection as well as a spoken response if a person feels led to speak.
What to Expect It is never easy to visit a new church for the first time so we want to do everything possible to make you feel welcome when you come. There are a few people who come dressed up; but many people choose casual dress. Come the way you feel most comfortable. We have a social time prior to worship when you can partake of a snack and share greetings and conversation with others.
